Larry H. Miller Dodge RAM Avondale - 2015 Dodge Challenger Arrival

The 2015 Dodge Challenger has arrived at Larry H. Miller Dodge RAM Avondale!

The 2015 Dodge Challenger is modeled after the 1970's edition in the sense that it kept its clean, modern muscle lines. The vehicle front and rear have both been redesigned including a bigger power bulge for the hood, an LED Halo, quad headlights, and a new Shaker hood option. The Split-Grille was inspired by the 1971 version. The interior design is a combination of retro and contemporary technology including leather seats which have a heating or cooling option. The Dodge Challenger has a revised engine that gets more power and has an added 8-Speed Automatic Transmission. According to AllPar, the 2015 Dodge Challenger comes in Bright White, Pitch Black, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Jazz Blue, and Redline Red.

Vehicle Highlight: History of the Dodge Challenger

When it comes to the Dodge Challenger, it's a toss up between the new and improved present-day Dodge Challenger vs. the classic Challenger.

The first generation of Dodge Challengers came out from 1970-1974. This vehicle was introduced as a Pony car which is an affordable, compact, and sporty-looking vehicle. It is also one of the most popular and ferocious muscle cars out there. In 1970, there were more than 84,000 of the first generation Dodge Challenger's sold.

From 1978-1983, the second Dodge Challenger was created. The second generation was not as popular as the first generation and was considered to be too similar to the Japanese Mitsubishi. Sales of the Dodge Challenger for the second generation were between 12,000-14,000 units per year. This is nothing like the success of the first generation.

The third generation Challengers are from 2008-current. In 2008, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 was revealed at the Chicago Auto Show. The third generation consists of the 5.7L Hemi Engine, 375 horsepower, 410 Pound feet/Torque, 5 speed automatic, and 25-27 miles per gallon.

This type of Challenger is modeled after the first generation. It is a very hot buy in the current market because it looks like the 70's style, but still modern with technology, comfort, and style. The first and     third generation Challengers both contain the same grille, belt line, roof line and headlights but the new Challenger is bulkier and taller than the first generation.
