Evolution of the Dodge Charger

The introduction of the Dodge Charger started back in 1966. 

According to Edmunds.com, "The original Charger was handsome from most angles and awkward from some — the roof and deck lid looked overly massive from directly behind. But the body was aerodynamically stable and relatively slick. The Charger was not an instant hit, with Dodge selling just 37,344 examples during the inaugural season — and only 468 of them had the Hemi. But it established a unique presence in the market as a premium muscle machine. "

The 1967 Dodge Charger ("Second Generation") was used in the 1969 TV show "Dukes of Hazzard." The famous "Lee 1" (the charger that jumped over the police cruiser in the first episode) was sold at auction for $121,000 (Autoblog.com).

Big Game Preview 2014

Are you ready for the Big Game this weekend? Here at Avondale Dodge, we are excited for the game and the commercials to come!

Dodge and Ram have been keeping quiet about whether or not they are going to show a commercial during the game this year, but based off of last years success, we wouldn't be surprised if they bring out something even more creative. Although we don't know how much more creative you can get after receiving Best "Game Day" ad on YouTube last year. It is also one of the top 19 Best "Game Day" ads of all time.

As if 16 million hits on their 2013 Game Day commercial "So God Made a Farmer" isn't enough, the commercial was actually based on a speech given by Paul Harvey in 1978.  The voice in the commercial is Harvey himself.

 

For all shares and downloads of this commercial, Dodge will donate to the Indianapolis-based National FFA Organization. The goal was to raise one million dollars.
